As I mentioned above we work as a machine these days, so I think it would be great if I put a relatable example for better understanding. Consider yourself a chargeable device such as a mobile phone, when we put our cellphones on charge over-night so that we get 100% charging for using it the next day. We do this every single day. Charging a smartphone or charging yourself are very much relatable.
Now imagine yourself being a smartphone where let’s just say you slept well the night before which means you start your day with a 100% charge. But in reality, waking up in the morning you roll over and check your smartphone before even brush your teeth, and scroll down to newsfeeds replying to texts and you’re doing whatsoever, but the point is 10% has been wasted successfully and now 90% of your charging is left.
Then, starting your day in the office working with your colleagues interacting with peoples finishing off projects and assignments, now 40% charging is left on your way home.
Then you meet traffic, that takes away another 10%, what are you going to do with 30% left? probably watch Netflix or talk to your loved ones telling them about how your day was, that takes away another 10%. On 20% our smartphones always notify us that the charging is going down, and the charge bar also turns to red gives us alert, that if we don’t put our smartphones on charge it will be switched off.
It’s totally up to you how you’re going to use this last 20% energy that you have, are you just collapse into bed and sleep? Are you going to watch a movie sitting in your comfort zone? Read a book? Play chess or any other game that you like? what would you do that would turn this 20% energy into 100% again? How will you manage this 20% left charging of yourself?
I am going to tell you what should you do in times like this, EXERCISE. Yes, you heard me right do workout when you workout your brain creates more serotonin which sends positive messages to your nervous system of happiness and well-being working out for 30 to 40 minutes every day, it will definitely increase 20% charging of yourself.
Another way to use left-over percentage efficiently is MEDITATION. Just like what Gym does for the body meditation also directly impacts your entire nervous system by reducing your body’s productions of stress-related chemicals such as cortisol meditation is a great way to the charging of yourself and can take you back up 20%.
Ah, that incredible feeling of morning routines but don’t underestimate the power of evening routine can make a huge difference. Did you know? 35% of US Americans are not getting 7 hours recommended sleep per night, keep in mind that every-body and every mind is different make sure you find the best amount of time you need to get that serious battery recharged.
To me, the real secret of finding the joy of happiness and meaning in life is relationship interactions with depth, make time for deep meaningful interactions every day. What if we recharge ourselves as much as we recharge our smartphones 90% of our problems could be solved.
That is why to spend quality time with your loved ones, make time for yourself as well and if you don’t you will end up like one of your phones at the bottom of some drawer.
