Hey everyone, glad to have you back. I know I was unable to post new articles, because I was a little busy with reading, observing, understanding, and trying to grow up wiser than before. This means working on myself to get better and better that’s why my readers were unable to hear from me. But don’t worry now I am here trying to write a good book review which I’ve recently finished reading. I hope you will read the rest of the article and would share your thoughts in the comments below, much appreciated.
Audrey Niffenegger was born on June 13, 1963. She is an American writer, artist, and academic. Her debut novel ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ was a bestseller.
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is a romantic fiction-based novel, published in 2003. It is a love story that revolves around Clare Anne Abshire, an artist who makes paper sculptures and her husband Henry DeTemble, a librarian at the Newberry Library in Chicago. Henry is a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably. He time travel when he is stressed, and nervous. His wife (Clare) has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences. The novel, which has been classified as both science fiction and romance, examines issues of love, loss, and free will. In particular, it uses time travel to explore miscommunication and distance in relationships, while also investigating deeper existential questions.
RATINGS: 4/5 (Goodreads)
Although, it is kinda long novel book having 546 pages in its first edition. I have never read such a long book in my entire life. I didn’t know I could finish this, but I did it. I believed in finishing this novel even when I found myself yawning or feeling bored but still I continued to read. This was the greatest commitment I made myself and I feel happy after finishing it.
At some point, I thought that maybe I should skip some of the parts but then I realized it’s not helping because the novel is so beautifully written you can not skip even when you want to. I didn’t know that an American romantic science-fiction drama movie was filmed based on the novel ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009), directed by Robert Schwentke.
The book is written as a two-person perspective. If we talk about the characters of this novel, I would say Audrey Niffenegger did complete justice to every character. They are perfectly described except Henry DeTemble, I found him so extraordinary maybe it’s because he is a time traveler. As I was reading this novel I found myself so indulged in it I can not explain. My sisters would be angry at me (hahaha).
